- We upgraded from FastIron Edge x448 to Brocade FCX 648. In these switches air flow is from back to front. So they are installed with their front to the back of the rack.
- Configured OSPFv3 and IPv6 on both switches. We used “ipv6 nd suppress-ra” in order to prevent the router from advertising the network o hosts so that they can’t auto configure their IPv6.
- OSPFv3 is very sensitive to MTU. In order for it to work we had to hard code MTU on core switches and routers. And then under the “interface ve” we specify “ip mtu 1500” and “ipv6 mtu 1500”
- We had problem getting IPv6 OSPFv3 forming neighbor adjacency between Core0 and routers. The solution to that was to hard code mtu on router interfaces that connect to Core0. And that is under the Ethernet configuration “mtu 9000” and in addition to “ifmtu 1500” that is under OSPFv3 directive in Vyatta Configuration.
